AP African American Studies Class Visits Harlem Landmarks
ORADELL, NJ, November 19, 2025– Bergen Catholic’s AP African American Studies class recently visited the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in Harlem, NY. Led by Mr. Crawford and Mr. Avent, the BC students were later taken on a tour through the historic neighborhood to the world-famous Sylvia’s Soul Food Restaurant, where the BC class enjoyed lunch together.
AP African American Studies is one of the newest classes offered at Bergen Catholic, as our BC students examine the diversity of African American experiences through direct encounters with rich and varied sources.
